AMC Loews Boston Common 1. Photos & 4. 39 Reviews - Cinema - 1. Tremont St, Boston, MA - Phone Number. Tremont St. Boston, MA0. I like Loews theater and this location in downtown Boston. I go to a lot of screenings and regular movie times. I don't have a bad experience in general but the food could be better and seats could be bigger. It is relatively clean and typically the movie Never starts on time. I hate coming to this stupid theater! It's always groups of ratchet ghetto minors here. Reason I went here because my friend offer to pay for my ticket , if we go to her theater of chose. AMC Loews Boston Common 19 & IMAX. Posts about AMC Theater Boston Commons. Foot up on the back of people's chairs. The whole time there were flashes, cell phone lights at the corner of my eyes and loud chewing & obnoxious laughters of large group at once! Someone brought Chinese food & threw a bone down toward the front . I was seated in the middle row, I had to shout excused me like 4 times before they got up to let me and my friend through. Someone literally shouted out if someone got a large bag of popcorn already eaten or seen a empty bag to let them know so they can get it filled. I'm guessing they offer refill to those that purchased a large popcorn. To top it off there were two girls there each with a baby stroller!! During our last visit we saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them , when we first got in line to get tickets, which was empty there were three employees at the desk who were all talking and looking at their phones, who did not even acknowledge that we were in front of them. We asked for two tickets for the 1. PM show, DEVON took our credit card and gave us tickets. Find out what movies are playing at nearby theaters. Get movie times, theater locations and buy tickets online. AMC Loews Boston Common 19.We went upstairs and followed the direction of the employee who ripped out stubs. Once we get upstairs to like theater 1. We go back downstairs , mind you we have already taken off our coats, bought popcorn, and our hands are filled. It has now been 1. DEVON she gave us the wrong tickets. After 5 minutes of stumbling around trying to find the stub we tell her we may not have it and she continues to tell us she cant do anything without the original stub. Print the right ticket??? WHO IS RUNNING THIS LOCATION??? Convenient location - the heart of downtown, accessible to the T, plenty of restaurants nearby before/after the movie! And catching an early matinee showing for new movies has always been clutch for me - Dr. Strange, Fantastic Beasts, Moana, etc. No greetings and when I ask them a question, they seem irritated. Also, the popcorn here is extra salty so I stopped buying the concessions for the movie. We're avid moviegoers and have long been regulars at the Regal Fenway theater in town. We liked that one because it was close and because Regal has a decent rewards program. But after a move put us closer to this AMC and after learning about their half- price tickets before noon on the weekends, we decided to give the AMC theater at Boston Common a shot. This theater has not done that, which was a bit of a disappointment. Every trash can in the entire theater was overflowing with garbage, and the floor was littered with wrappers, empty containers, and popcorn. Worse, though, was the smell: stale popcorn and feet. Mind you, this was 1. AM on Sunday morning - - clearly it hadn't been cleaned from the previous night. Unfortunately, this rang true of the restrooms, too, which were horrid. Instead, I think we'll keep making the hike over to Regal Fenway. It's funny how I came to this theatre for the newest movie out and the food and trash from the last show is still here. I have never witnessed this from any movie theatre in my life in over 1. The man who handed me my ticket didn't help much at all when I asked him about which new movies was out. Also he never said you're welcome after I thanked him for my ticket. I later (1. 0 minutes later) ran into the same guy in the restroom and held the door open for him and that same worker never thanked me. It's in a great location in the heart of Boston. It makes no sense for there to be trash from the last show to still sit here. Also for the staff, the one I've dealt with to be so rude. This theater has potential however it looked as if a popcorn bomb went off in the concession area. The iconic large Lowes logo can be seen from far away and there are several floors of theaters down long corridors some of them have nice views of the Common. Often in the long hallways they also have these fun movie props or displays if you want to take some photos. Aside from it's convenient location right across from Boston Common/Boylston T and large theaters there aren't too many other positives I can present for you. This is probably just for the convenience of fitting as many bodies as they can in here. As can be expected the concessions are wildly expensive here. The theaters aren't always the cleanest but at least the bathrooms are still usable unlike AMC Framingham. Despite it's overall mediocrity, I can't say that I haven't enjoyed watching movies with friends here. It's a pretty dirty movie theater but it's location is perfect for having dinner and a movie. The concessions area is a mess. The sound was way too loud. Any in- movie explosions will literally send vibrations running throughout your body. This theater was okay the first time I went about a year ago. Upon entering the theater room, there was vomit on the floor, with a wet floor sign over it. We assumed that someone would be returning soon to clean it, so we stepped over it and into the theater. There, we were greeted by 2 more huge puddles of vomit. At this point, we were disgusted, and in shock. Why wasn't there an employee to tell us to wait outside the theater until it was clean? Anyway, we assumed that someone would be coming to clean it soon, so we sat down. Will not be returning to this theater. I have only been here once and had no issues. Very clean thearter as well. Took an uber here so we didn't have to park we just went right in. Popcorn tasted very fresh which is my favorite. If the popcorn isnt right the whole thing isnt right. Large movie theater that is conveniently situated in the city to go to a movie on a whim. DO NOT go for any other reason than spontaneity. Theaters are not clean (possible bodily fluid stains) and rampant with youths who like to provide a commentary throughout the entire experience. And at $1. 3. 5. 0 for a Sunday afternoon matinee who could blame me?! I'm conflicted about this place. Dirtiest theater I have ever been in. Location has made some upgrades self serve soda machines, a bar that is coming soon. The seating needs to be upgraded. Many locations have gone to recliners for seating. I now will visit this location only if the Showcase cinema are not showing the feature I want to see or if I have passes to this cinema. What an awful venue for films. Completely impersonal. You can feel the death of cinema and the contempt the staff has for filmgoers. Nowhere to park at a reasonable rate and of course you're not going to get any food or drink for anything less than a ludicrous price. Avoid avoid AVOID this terrible theater at all costs. Been to this theater a few times. Well, three strikes and F@#k you!!! Took a girl there after lunch at Cheers, the theater was filthy and smelled bad. Remember in Home Alone when the guy loses his shoes and socks before stepping on a nail? Yeah, it was just about that sticky. The concessions were unreasonably priced.. Loud mouthed thugs down in the front row took it upon themselves to do movie commentary. I complained and I could tell other people had too, but nothing was done. We got there and got in line with the others who had promo tickets.. Apparently, in anticipation that they would not have a huge turnout for the prescreening, they'd oversold these promo tickets to radio stations and other groups. Look, I get that your theater sucks, but even so, people will tolerate trashy theaters if theres a show they want to see. Or offered tickets to a later show perhaps??? I confronted the guy saying that I didnt like his attitude and wanted to speak to his manager, I was promptly told to leave or he would call security. I went to a show more recently and the experience was exactly like the first time, minus the commentary in from the front row.. And you'd be smart to do the same! I go here because it's convenient but hate it. I used to come at night but every time I went I dealt with noisy teenage audiences and filthy theatres. So I started coming in the afternoons. It was quieter but the theatres were still filthy and (more than once) I've seen mice scuttling around. Still that's about par for most movie theatres. Now however they've gotten REAL bad! I prefer to pay for my ticket with cash. Now, in the lobby, is a row of machines to dispense tickets and only one guy to man it. I want to deal with a PERSON not a machine! The guy was super helpful but obviously overworked. I think this is pretty much the last straw for me. About the only good thing I can say about this theater is its location. On busy nights, the lines can bottleneck at the ticket- takers, getting pretty chaotic with confused ticketholders, intentionally and otherwise, cutting the lines due to little to zero queue management.
